Sunshine Roofing Gutter Cleaning
and Once Over Service.
Cleaning the Gutters!
We are offering a Roofing Once Over Service where we clean the roof and gutters of debris and give the roof a look.
This Roofing Once Over should be done at intervals ranging from every 3 months to every 12 months. Depending on your specific situation, the Roofing Once Over may need to be done more often rather than less often.
The following items are included in the basic Roofing Once Over service. Anything we find that is not included in the Roofing Once Over service itself will be brought to your attention and quoted with another service proposal. The object of this service is to attend to the obvious, while experienced eyes scan the roof periodically to see if anything is needing attention. Removing the debris from the roof and gutters is often times a needed service by itself. Adding the informal inspection is just a good thing to do.

Remove Roof Debris
Clean Gutters
and Downspouts

Dryer Vent Cleaning
- Remove Roof Debris from roof – this would include leaves, sticks, newspapers, balls, rocks, etc. from the roof covering.
- Clean Gutters and Downspouts – Remove all debris from gutters, if downspouts are clogged we will attempt to unclog. It may require coming back as extra work. If there is an extra pipe after the downspout reaches ground, and it is clogged, we will quote in extra proposal or recommend others as needed.
- Check and Clean Roof Drains and/or Scuppers – Debris gets trapped at these areas. We will check to ensure they are clear. The drain pipes themselves may have to be cleared as well, this may end up as extra work. Missing strainers will also be listed.
- Check and Clean Dryer Vent – if there is a dryer vent on the roof. Clean vent out by hand where accessible on roof side. Whatever we can easily reach with our hands. If the duct is also clogged, this will need to be handled by an HVAC service or dryer vent cleaning service. They have tools to get the ducts clean.
- Give Roof Once Over and Notate – Look at roof in general and notate anything that might need attention and then bring it to your attention. It’s up to you after that.
The items above are the items included in the Basic Roofing Once Over Service.
The following items we check and bring to your attention if needed. If we find anything we’ll send proposal – report for extra work needed. Then it is your choice. Our job is to bring it to your attention! We’ll let you know if it is urgent or not, and most likely, will attempt to temporarily cover if able to.

Check for Missing
Shingles
Check for
Broken Roof Tile

Metal Roof Screws
Missing and Raised
- Check for Missing Shingles – Check that the roof covering is in tact.
- Check for Broken Tiles – Count all broken tiles and hip caps. This will be quoted in extra proposal.
- (Metal Roofing) – Check for High Screws – a couple of screws can be handled while we are there, otherwise this will be quoted in the extra proposal.
- Check the Attic Vents for Screens – The attic vents are a rodent access point. Any screens or repairs will be quoted in the extra proposal. This will also include ridgevent end plugs, sometimes they work themselves out and are an open hole for rodents.
- Check for anything obvious – Anything that sticks out to us we will be quoted on the proposal. This will include protruding fasteners, special situations, rodent access, tree cutting recommendations, general items that just don’t look good.
Missing Cap Shingles
Full Gutters
- Gutter or Downspout extensions – May need to extend the gutter a few feet or adjust/add downspouts. Sometimes small gutter repairs from the mower or just general traffic dings up the elbows and downspout tubes. May need to add a downspout to help drain a section of gutter that gets overloaded easily.
- Roof Drain clogs or clogs past the roof line – If we can’t get it unclogged easily, then a plumber or other service contractor may have to be called in with special equipment.
- Rotten Fascia – rotten fascia is a sign of more trouble. We have found rotten fascia in the past and it can be isolated or further water damage up into the roof.
- Soffit – We usually put an eye on the soffit and see if there are missing pieces or holes. Aluminum soffit is very thin sheet metal and will shift and dent very easily. Wood soffit can have rotten areas or fasteners that rusted out. Stucco soffit can also get holes in the screening.
